LDS position on Pluto?

Post by Moksha »

While we've been told via LDS Church members that Uranus testifies about Jesus, what is the Church's position on Pluto? Do they support Pluto's reclassification as a non-planet?

Hey, Pluto isn't a non-planet. It's a dwarf planet. That's like, kind of a planet. Right? It has "planet" in it right there, and not even just hyphenated.

Pluto isn't an A-lister any more, though, that's true. It's in a wannabe pack with the big asteroid Ceres and three distant ice chunks. They're all smaller than Earth's moon, which is probably hard to deal with as a dwarf planet. If I were one of them, I'd be looking for a whole new term that didn't even sound like "planet", so I could act as though I was totally happy being my own kind of thing and didn't care at all about being a planet.
I was a teenager before it was cool.

Just hope President Nelson does not declare it to be a Devil Planet.

Pluto is a little sad. But he'll get over it.
