Were the authors of the Federalist Papers cowards?

There are arguments on this MB about whether people who use pseudonyms are cowards. The Federalist Papers were written under the pseudonym Publius. Were Alexander Hamilton, John Jay and James Madison cowards?

Of course not.

I brought that up yesterday that anonymity in the political arena is something that should not be looked upon as cowardly. Rather, I find these men were incredibly brave.
