You said the LDS church hasn't been proven false. Now you restrict that statement to just the Book of Mormon? What does it mean for the veracity of the Book of Mormon if it's shown that the LDS church isn't true? Do you suppose it could really be the FLDS, or the RLDS or something? Just wondering.
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

I think you may have it backwards.

Not really. They both need to be true. Unless you think the Book of Mormon may be true but it's really the RLDS or the FLDS or some other Mormon sect that's really the true church?

Hypothetical. The Book of Mormon is true. Christ then restored His church. And it's still here. Which one would you pick? Why?

The Book of Mormon is a work of fiction written in the 19th century that tells stories of mythical peoples that nonetheless contain many eternal truths, even though it never actually happened. Thus, the Book of Mormon is indeed true.
Christ didn't restore his church since anytime there are believers on the earth, so is Christ's church. Any Christian church is Christ's church. Any church that claims exclusive rights to Christ is in error.
Yes, it's still here. Whenever two or more are gathered in his name, it is here.
