If one has truly left the church one does not return, unless one is a masochist or they come back because of emotional blackmail from a spouse.

I don't see Seth as embittered. Some of your mopologist friends seem far more bitter than he is.

And I'm with Merc on this one: I've never met anyone who figured out the truth behind Mormon mythology and then went back. It would be like pretending you didn't see the man behind the curtain.
