I feel more than vaguely uncomfortable with calling ourselves Saints, even if that is in the title. Somehow seeking to set ourselves apart from the rest of Humanity with a superior title seems wrong. Even for Mormons to pull rank on each other with titles that seek to demonstrate superior adherence to beliefs or practices seems fraught with pride.

I know in the past I have publically described myself as a TBM, because my beliefs seem true to me, even if they are unorthodox, but I also believe those with differing views have truth as well. I have also described myself as a Marginalized Mormon because I frequently feel that way as well.

Hmm...

Well, as I said I never thought TBM was a negative term at all.

True believing members, to me would be a compliment to those who qualify as it describes members who believe vs non-believing members.

I find it odd that Charity would think describing someone as a beliving member is giving them a label , (negative at that), but labeling them, Saints, is somehow different. I completely do not get it.

Personally even as a believing member I found the label "Saint" rather arrogant... I guess it reminded me of the Saints that are adored and respected as holy in other religions. Calling myself a Saint was like saying I am one of the righteous few who should be honored similarly to the various people who were Sainted... just really felt arrogant and unholy and ego building.

I guess it doesn't matter and maybe nothing will be satisfactory...

Oh well,

:-)

And in my head I call myself "Captain of the universe". So let me send out a press release so that everyone starts calling me my true name...and not what everyone is used to calling me. If the LDS can do it why can't I?

That’s ok; "Drug-smuggling chinchilla" makes me giggle.
