Well, since you asked ;)
What happens in my story (or what would have happened had I finished it) is the Mormon church starts supporting a fundamental Jewish or Christian organization (I was thinking Jews for Jesus or something like that) that is intent on waging a war against Islam in an attempt to destroy the Dome of the Rock and precipitate the second coming. Not exactly the same premise, but it still sounded oddly familiar.
