I don't care if people think it was poorly made. It get the message out.

We had our 14 year old son watch it with us.

Another great DVD to watch is the documentary "Burying the Past".

I don't think it was terribly poorly done. The scenery was just what you'd expect. The dialogue could have been a bit better, I think. But you're right when you say it got the message out. I, personally, think Voight should have been cast as Brigham Young. I don't know what they were thinking with Terrence Stamp.

I so agree.
The road is beautiful, treacherous, and full of twists and turns.

What on earth were they thinking with Terrence Stamp? He bore no resemblance to the photo's I've seen of Brigham Young. Voight could have so pulled it off.

I finally got around to watching the movie. I wanted to see if it is really as bad as tbm's claim it is. Well, it is.

Sensational
agenda driven
poor acting
awkward script
and the special effects even sucked

I was EXTREMELY disappointed. The movie could have been good, even if the anti-agenda was the same. But nope. As sick as it sounds (considering the seriousness of the unfortunate event) I found myself laughing on several occasions. That sounds terrible... I know. I mean... who the hell would laugh during a movie about the MMM? The fact that I did laugh during the movie (on several occasions) makes me all the more disgusted with the director and producer of this film. The movie has no redeeming value, in my view.

I've see lots of movies... and this one is probably on my top 10 list of the worst movies that I have EVER seen. Maybe it is THE worst... but I'd have to give it some though to figure it out. And frankly, I'd rather not waste my time any more thinking about it.
