This sort of statement makes me laugh. It's so circular. Of course when one leaves any club with rules, they are not going to abide by the rules of the club. There is such an assumption that the club rules apply to everybody. If that were so, then why would one leave that club?
It's really a matter of re-establishing your life paradigm. When you leave a religion for reasons of non-belief, guess what? YOu don't believe in the rules anymore! So to participate in behaviors that that are normal outside of the club is....
NORMAL!
Doh!
Ack! I would probably abuse drugs and be promiscuous.

I don't what? Have sex? I had sex with my ex-husband since I was 23 years old and after we separated I haven't had sex. No drugs either. No alcohol since I was in my early 20's. Stopped smoking in my early 20's -- picked it up again for a wee bit then quit again.
What precisely was the question?
Oh! I pay my taxes too! :)
Um...he just wondered if you flossed regularly.

Which is exactly why the church condemns it. Except for prophets and church leaders, of course. Then it's okay. Even God-inspired. Canonized even.
