I wonder if he finally stopped trying to believe.

Nope.
Pure speculation.

So was the OP.
Sure.

Jason or others, do you have inside information?

Frankly after watching his expose of mission corruption with Dr. Lyon, I am surprised they are both still members.

That is because you have a one dimensional mind.

Mormonstories is so good. Hope it will not be permanently discontinued or altered.

I wonder if he was pressured to give it up by leaders.

I also hope that the site isn't completely dismantled. I love, in particularly, the polygamist woman named Anne's testimony.
We hate to seem like we don’t trust every nut with a story, but there’s evidence we can point to, and dance while shouting taunting phrases.

Hopefully, John will not be leaving the scene. He did such a wonderful job with mormonstories. He was quickly becoming an icon of Mormon culture. Whoever takes his place will have a huge climb uphill to match John and his skills.

John is mormonstories.
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world.

An icon of Mormon culture???

Perhaps for the closet doubters or the completely inactive LDS member board dwellers like yourself.

The majority of active Mormons have never heard of mormonstories, Fair, Ma&D, MDB, RfM, or FARMS.

I liked it as well because it demonstrated that the LDS are not the only ones to have deep heart felt feelings about their beliefs.

Using the same justification that the SLC LDS use one could say the FLDS is "true" based on this woman's feelings.

John is executive director of Sunstone in addition to being in charge of Mormon Stories. I imagine that's a lot of work, especially with Sunstone now putting on something like 4 sympsiums a year.

I hope there is a non-apologetic type who can step up to the plate and fill this worthwhile service to the Mormon community. It not only helps with members immediate needs but provides a source of future history if well archived and preserved.

You may have a point. Perhaps I should have said: He is an icon of Mormon internet culture. That would have been more exact. John will perhaps be missed from Mormonstories but all will depend on who replaces him. They will have some big shoes to fill.

Any bets on how badly the Brethren hate John Dehlin's guts?
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"
