Yes I do. The death rate in Iraq is lower than the death rate for the general population of the US.

I think you are full of it. The death rate in Iraq certainly is much higher for our soldiers than those in the same age group.

Do you have a son serving? I do. Two tours in Iraq and now probably Afghanistan in the spring. Unless you have your son or daughter on the line I submit you really are unable to comprehend the concern a parent may have.

A logical fallacy. You are no better qualified than I to comment on any aspect the war.

I am better qualified to comment on the actual personal impact it has on my son and his family as well as whether I personally think it is worth his potential blood than you are.

Even NObama will not risk losing the war. He's already backing away from his promises preferring instead to drawn just as the Bush administration would and claim the victory for his own.

Too bad. Iraq is a quagmire that has cost blood and treasure that could have been put to better use than a pre-emptive attack on a sovereign nation that posed no imminent direct threat to the USA. President Bush 1 was smart enough not to get caught in the quagmire. His son should have listened to and followed his father's wisdom on this one.

Not that I'm planning on voting for him anyway, but John McCain has started to accumulate a healthy list of flip-flops (61 so far) that ought to concern any prospective voter:

"Why end a necessary war we are winning?"

Why do you think the US invading Iraq was 'necessary'? They were no threat to the US. Even Afghanistan is questionable. Going after 'terrorists' is one thing but toppling a government and installing our own regime is a lot more than that. The US is an invading nation and we currently have an army of occupation in both countries. We are supposedly setting up a 'Democracy' in these two countries while the US is not a democracy.

So please explain why these invasions are necessary. They are not wars, the US Congress has yet to declare WAR on anyone. These two are destined to be as successful as the 'war on poverty'.

We are an invading nation led by an International War Criminal. I hope Bush is kidnapped and taken to the World Court to be tried for his crimes. Killing people because he wants to order around 'real army guys' and show he is a "leader of men" is murder, nothing less. We have no business being in Iraq. We have a reason to be in Afghanistan but after 'the terrorists' are killed or captured that reason is over.

Well, we broke it, we bought it. That's how I look at it. It might sound harsh, but I'd say a country deserves the president it votes for.
