Yes or No. Did God change his mind about polygamy because the government would take property away from the church?
You know what I found humorous about this? The fears about the "slippery slope" not ruining families, that's just a front, but compromising the unchecked powers of religious tyrrany. Oh yeah, the brethren fear that alright. You know what? deep down, I hope they are right. I hope that the government forces the Mormon church to allow gay marriage in the temple. Hahahaha. I'd laugh my ass off at that.
It's poetic justice we're talking about here. I'd like to see the brethren forced to witness one gay marriage for every straight marriage that relatives without recommends were forbidden to attend.
Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.
LM 11/23/2018: one can explain away the soul of human beings...as...a Meat Unit, to use Professor Peterson's clever derogatory description of gemli's ideology.
Not my family. I may have married into those who were unfortunate enough to have fallen into that pit, but thank God for the few who stood up to the basest of men, even while they dishonored the prophetic mantle.
Joseph Smith, the basest of men. I'm sorry. I can't accept that under any circumstances, and I don't even think Emma Smith would have said that. I don't agree with everything Joseph did either, but this is going way to far. If anything one thing that has kept me in the Church as long as I have is the image they've given me of who Joseph Smith was.
Let me guess, you'd rank Bill Clinton above Joseph Smith. Maybe we'll get to choose the type of people we're around in the next life. I suppose this could work out well.
And when the confederates saw Jackson standing fearless as a stone wall the army of Northern Virginia took courage and drove the federal army off their land.
