Okay. So niceness will not be the of the game with you. But you have been nice, at times. I'm so confused, or you are just being dramatic for dramatic's sake. I don't get it, though. Oh well.
I can be a nice guy when I want to be, but few people are nice all the time. My responses reflect appropriateness to the subject at hand. I have a flexible response system going.
And mopologetics is one of those areas where niceness feels inappropriate to me. Someone pissing on my leg... same thing.

So no charity for the mistaken people who justify their beliefs, in your mind through contoriton, because they love their beliefs huh?
I actually don't begrudge people their mistaken beliefs (assuming they aren't pushing them on others or hurting others in the name of said beliefs). I understand that mental comfort is a powerful motivator, so fine. It doesn't, for a second, mean I'm not critical of the beliefs themselves.
A person may love the idea that they're "mopping the floor with others in debate", for instance (still laughing about that one, Simon), and although that belief is ridiculous, I'm not going to criticize the person for holding it... just the idea itself.

It's actually very nuanced. Like I said, my response changes depending on the content. I don't dislike people simply because they belong to a "tribe."
