Constructive Revenge?

Post by _Runtu »

As the whole Will/SGW/Juliann/Kevin fiasco has unfolded, I've become convinced that this is not a religious conflict at all. Rather, for whatever reason, people have taken MsJack's original thread as an invitation to resurrect old wounds, grudges, and resentments, and finally get some revenge.

Surely there is a better way to deal with such old and festering grievances. So, in that spirit, may I offer some suggestions for constructive revenge:

10. Generate love, not memes.
9. Stare at the Apocalrock until the anger melts away.
8. Blame Shades. It's all his fault, anyway.
7. When Pahoran hurls a venomous insult, play this.
6. Think of the children. Won't somebody please think of the children?
5. Imagine that Nemesis isn't wearing any pants behind that TV-Desk.
4. Each time Wade says he's been misunderstood, have an adult beverage.
3. Watch a few Kerry Shirts videos.
2. Come up with an annoying catch-phrase (note: "pep pep" is already taken).
1. Just let go of the hurt and the anger. It's not that hard, really.

You're right of course, on the it not being a religious conflict. I don't know how many times I've heard people, after I question their behavior towards others, have said, essentially, "well you don't know the history I have with Pahoran/Dr. Peterson/Schryver/Wade/Runtu/Kishkuman etc.

Come on Runtu - I still lurk a lot. Are you trying to turn me into an alchie? :)

Watching the MDB vs. MDD / MAD / FAIR board conflict kinda reminds me of the Israeli / Palestinian conflict.

You sometimes get a brief hint that the leaders involved want to work out some kind of peace. But then a significant enough amount of the general populations on both sides give their respective leaders enough grief - and collectively cause enough trouble - that they get what they want...

...more conflict...

Just thought I should mention that I sent Juliann a message the other day expressing my sadness and disgust over what has happened. She sent me a very kind response and said she holds no grudges and bears no ill will toward me. It made me feel pretty good.

How could you send her a message if you've been banned?

Stem: Hey, Obama, I just saw you ordering the military to shoot down some guy in Pakistan. That wasn't very nice.

Obama: Well, there's been some history ...

Stem, my dear, your own history on this board consists of lots of talking and very little listening. If you know a little of the history, you may be able to interpret the intent of others a bit more meaningfully and not waste so much time scolding.
