LDS avoid mainstream Christian phrases involving God

Peace be with you...these are the words Jesus spoke to the Apostles. Catholics say it a lot. :) We say it at Mass, to each other. "Peace be with you." "And also with you."

So, a good Catholic joke (I think):

How do you know you're Catholic?

When Obi Wan says "May the force be with you." You reply, "And also with you."

At Easter, try out "Christ is risen!" as a greeting, instead of "hello". (The response is "He is truly risen!")

Since god is heavenly father, it may be good to call him by his formal standing. Also, since the LDS have three distinct personages in their godhead, it may be good not to confuse the three with a general word 'god'. For the LDS, Christ is Chist and Heavenly Father is Heavenly Father. And the Holy Ghost is the Holy Ghost.

God is all three. If Mormons think that Jesus Christ is not the Very Eternal Father, the Eternal God, they have not believed their Book of Mormon. Joseph Smith was never the Holy Ghost. Augh!

Rather than sift through all restoration scripture and comprehend the whole of it unfolded by the power of the Holy Ghost LDS arrogantly accept their popular, off the cuff, spoken traditions for theology. Because they vaunt themselves superior and above all nations they refuse to see that their own scripture strips away much of that uniqueness. Threatening a humiliation of themselves that would force them in truth to be less than the most excellent elite which they savor, and peddle to evangelize the craven proud of mankind to come be a part of and to accept a portion of 'the spirit', they must turn a blind eye.

Z, I think there is fear of using "God" because of the continual harping of not using God's name in vain.
Phrases such as but not limited to the follow:

Good GOD
Oh my GOD
GodDAMNIT
GOD!

The phrase I do hear/see a lot from TBMs is:

"I love you."

that, of course, is an excellent phrase.

As long as it is from genuine personal family or friends in a loving relationship with the person being told.

Over the pulpit broad loving, "I love each and every one of you", is goddamned BS.

One of the (very) few things they got wrong in the Book of Mormon musical is where the Mission President and the Elders say "Praise Christ" a couple times toward the end. I've never heard a Mormon say "Praise Christ" like that. It's always odd to me when shows that get so much right about Mormon culture (as the Book of Mormon musical does) still get some really basic things wrong. Like in the final season of Big Love when Barb mispronounces the word "Melchizidek." (She got it right a few episodes later, but still...).

I think that the phrase, "God bless you," is just not as utilized in the West. I hardly ever heard it said to anyone when I lived in California.

When I moved to the South, EVERYONE uses it.

"God bless" and "Praise Jesus" or "Thank you, Jesus!" is used rather frequently here.

You can try to visit a catholic coffee hour after Mass and say: 'What a beautiful sacrament service we just had'. People would turn around looking at you like you are from mars.

Yet they also know the Eucharist is one of the sacraments. Wish we had a Postum hour afterwards.
