Sorry about the de-sticky, but some people said that it contributed negatively to the culture here.

I made the point that I was only going off of what people HERE thought, but then someone (café crema? Rambo?) made the excellent counterpoint that the people who gave me feedback are the ones who care what MD&D thinks.

You then did a poll which passed in favour of re-sticking, by 19-15. In other words, the 15 who voted against don’t matter. That’s a relatively slim margin, but you’re ignoring them. I’m really not sure that “democracy” is the best way to go about this. You weren’t “elected” Admin of this board, and votes for or against can’t keep you in or out power. It’s your board, and how it’s run should be up to you, in consultation with Keene or whomever else. Your latter quote is inflammatory, too, to suggest that the 15 [only?] “care what MD&D thinks”, as if that’s their whole reason for voting against re-sticking. Does the thought ever cross your mind that some of the 15 (or even all?) actually care about the future of Mormon Discussions? (It’s your board, mate, and ignore me if you want. No skin off my nose. Once I update my Jessica Watson thread (is that okay?), I’ll once again head for greener pastures.)

In any case, with re-sticking, as a sidenote, there’s little point complaining about posts like This one

Anyone else find this statement ironic since Jason's whole board has been dedicated to monitoring this board, disparaging posters here and basically being a parasite of our content!

FYI the purpose of this section is not to monitor one thread but the whole board and documenting the attacks it stages.

You say that like we would actually benefit from having people migrate from there to here. If they're idiots there, what makes you think they'll suddenly grow IQ points when they post here?

Besides, that thread constitutes things they've actually said. Why should it bother them at all? Because we think they're idiotic statements? So what? Why do they care so much about what happens on a board they supposedly disdain?

Hey Ray,

I have really enjoyed reading your commentary about recent board events. You are a good devil's advocate.

I just have a few more thoughts to contribute. The stickied thread doesn't matter much to me. I don't recall why it was stickied to start with. I don't read it, but I can see by the new posts that it's a popular thread for many. That said, I think that the popularity of it is going to keep bumping it back to the top.

I don't know why we are all debating the status or future of one thread, really, I don't.

I would also like to note that last night I visited the MAD board. I saw NO responses on the thread that Nemesis made to post quotes from this board.

Someone needs to remind me what the issue is here, I don't see anything so controversial that I need to argue it at length.

Keep it de-stickied and let it rise and fall on its own merits. If they quit being idiotic (LOL) then they will be rewarded. If it were stickied, it would always be a reminder of our "persecution" of Mormons.
