I agree with the spirit of the post that this thread is in reference to, but it is worth pointing out that the tacked-on ending of Job involves God berating Job for being an inferior being daring to question him. Hard to take away a lesson that God wants to be argued with from that. The book itself represents a narrative form of the problem of evil expressed as a legal argument. And that makes it into the canon, so I think we can reform the point that questioning and exploration of argument is viewed favorably.
