And this may well be true.
Catholics and Mormons have much in common. I just read Laura Ingrahm's book Power to the People. She is a practicing catholic and reading that book was like I was reading a book about values written by a Mormon. But of course she wrote it according to her own catholic beliefs. Most of what she said in that book, Mormons would agree with.
Catholics would be sad to see the Mormons disappear from Utah. They have created a good state where family values matter and where all can live and be as one with their faith in god.

I don't see that Catholics would be either sad or happy about this hypothetical event. There are a few collaborations between the two religions in UT but for the most part, each does their own thing separate from the other.

For examples, secular society defines for most that a sexual relationship outside of a marriage as acceptable, yet, most people believe that adultery is wrong. Mormons accept polygamy as valid, where all of Christianity understand polygamy as a form of adultery. This is what I mean by the moral laws believed by all are applied differently.
Most people do not behave at all times in a manner that aligns to their belief. This is the struggle for everyone, and anyone who believes otherwise, is most likely self-delusional. Or at the very least, blind.
