How so? LDS accept all Bible verses including those.
The LDS chruch accepts a lot of things.

Actually, one does need to be a full tithe payer to have a current temple recommend. It is one of the interview questions asked.

While not "saving" per se, prayers for souls in purgatory was common enough
a Catholic practice that it was suggested to me in the early 90's.
