Obviously, I'm not going to be able to quote the lesson. The basic premise was that unless I "exercising my priesthood" in the home I was not completely fulfilling my job as a father. Providing for them is good. Raising them is good. Teaching them is good. But, unless I'm giving blessings and conducting personal preisthood interviews I'm not hitting them mark.


Why would the admonition to use the priesthood make Elder's quorum not a place for nonbelievers? Don't you think having the priesthood might be attractive to some?

I know that it is. Believing there a higher power is comforting. Believing that you can channel some of that beings power is that much more comforting. Although, even as a believer I recognized the mere placebic (haven't determined if that is a word yet) effect of preisthood blessings.
