Mormons in Utah and parts of Colorado

Post by _malaise »

The Mormons I meet outside of Utah are usually pretty well adjusted, but the Mormon community in the Mormon corridor is truly a sight to behold. If you don't conform then you will be a social outcast, and your family and friends will basically stop speaking to you. Some of them will even start to hate you, especially if you try to tell them why you left the church. I think that is why so many people deny that LDS families abandon apostates; they haven't ever had the chance to live in Utah, and don't understand how strong the social pressure to conform is. I hope that Utah will become less weird as more and more non-Mormons move there.
I'm sorry, but all questions muse be submitted in writing.
