You don't need to win the lottery. You shouldn't have to underwrite your own script. Write a script, Night and send it around. Who knows? Someone might pick it up. Even if it doesn't get produced you might get someone to pay you for an option on it.

You never know unless you try.

Could happen. I have a difficult time getting affirming encouragements here in Utah.....it is for me a great desert. Always, I must do everything.

Perhaps first a simple screen play I have many components for ready to stitch together. It will NOT be about religion. How 'bout that? I would rather not learn how to write a screen play professionally. If I could hook up with someone with the skills I got the thrills.

But once again, there is no way an LDS person could make a Book of Mormon themed film as good as Apocalypto. For one thing, the source material sucks, but even if they made a offshoot story based in a Book of Mormon setting, they couldn't make it like Apocalypto because they would have to tone down the violence, and make it faith promoting somehow so missionaries can show it to investigators.

I heard they started a project for filming the Book of Mormon but wanted to do it on location. Last I heard, they're still looking...

Maybe DCP can scout out the location for the opening scenes next May when he's in Israel with Everybody Wang Chung.

DCP should at least be able to tell the producers where Laban's grave/crypt and Lehi's house in Jerusalem were not.
