I know here at Shady Acres some of us rag on Mormonism and Republicans and Democrats and apostates and all that, but sometimes I think we (*I*) lose perspective about what's truly good and bad in the world.
On Bill Maher's show they have bonus coverage on hbo.com. Anyway the discussion last night on "Overtime" got around to homosexuality and one of the panelists mentioned a "basha" in Afghanistan. I didn't know this term so a quick google search brought me the horror of what that term is, a young boy slave bought by a wealthy man in Afghanistan as a jester/entertainer/sex slave. Through the power of the Net I came across this documentary about the subject:

I highly recommend it, if only to put some perspective on how *not* bad things are in America. I guess I've grown more sentimental and protective since the Penn State thing about child abuse since I'm getting older and about to get married and start a family...so anyway watch the film and reflect that while stuff in America might be bad, we have it pretty good compared to the suffering in other places of the world and rejoice that the children of America are spared in large part.
*Mods-I know this is off-topic but let it sit in Terrestrial a few day please for the sake of an old insomniac. -Bond

Keeping things in perspective
Whatever appears to be against the Book of Mormon is going to be overturned at some time in the future. So we can be pretty open minded.-charity 3/7/07
