I think BC does, indeed, owe Zee an apology. He never lied at all. Take a look at his OP. He states that "according to a Facebook message by John Dehlin", President Packer said the following....

He stated from the beginning of this thread that what was spoken by President Packer was based on what he had read on Facebook.

That means that even if President Packer didn't make the statement, Zee would not be lying. All he did was pass along something that he had read that John Dehlin had written, and said so.

Then, Zee actually finds the written documentation that President Packer did, indeed, state what John Dehlin claimed.

To be fair, I was mistaken in saying John said that. He was just asking whether it was said or not.

I didn't look carefully when I saw that on Facebook.

Another example of me being hasty with this iPhone. Truly, I should be more careful.

I may indeed. However, this is what I watched and Packer is not on it:

To BCSpace, John Dehlin and reasonable honest folks like him who tell the truth about the Mormon Church are anti-Mormon liars, by definition.

The constant drumbeat of fictional negativity proves me true overall. I have no problem with what BKP is reported to have said, I do (or did) have a problem with the fact(?) that it was not present in the broadcast I watched as claimed and again presented in a negative light.

Edit. Okay. I am red-faced. I just watched last years and I still have yet to watch this years. I thought it sounded familiar.

Zeez. I am sorry for this one.

Apostrophe is correct. "Someone's" is a contraction of "someone is" or "someone has". There's also "someone'll" as a contraction of "someone will" though it may be a more of a function of dialect than proper grammar.

"Someone's" also shows possession.

So it depends on the context; possession or contraction.

"Someones" is plural; as in "there are many someones". Not sure if Strunk & White would approve the use of that last though.

Someones' is plural possession.

Of course that's just grammar according to bcspace; how he thinks he was raised. But it's served him in good stead though he sometimes types so fast he makes many errors with apostrophes and there/their etc.

by the way, I consider the negative focusing on a cherry picked out-of-context phrase to be a form of lying. Does this friend of yours, zeez, or Dehlin make note of the context?

BC,

Your religion must be devoid of passion. That sucks.

Sucks to be caught again and again in a lie doesn't? I don't point it out much, but most of you are actively engaged in lying about the Church (the definition of anti Mormonism) and NONE of you is actively engaged in helping to "reform" the Church or "help" the members as is often the claim.
