Grant Palmer Resigned

Not sure how recent this is. From RFM:

This is his 2nd time on.

http://mormonstories.org/?p=2518

Palmer has recently been writing stuff for a Sunstone Presentation and for the Mormon Think web site and talks with John Dehlin about Joseph Smith's polygamy and accusations of sexual impropriety from 1829 to 1835. He also talked about William Law, the Nauvoo Expositor etc.

Big news is though that Palmer resigned from the Church in 2010 after being called to another Church court. He had been keeping it secret for family reason but came out on the podcast.

And further on:

I just got done listening to this podcast. Grant Palmer got called in to a court of love. He was told if he wanted to keep his membership, he would have to basically say that the book 'Insider's guide to Mormon origins' was not true. He said that would have essentially emasculated him (so true). He said he was willing to offer to just shut up and 'go away'...but the church wouldn't back down. GP resigned and now it seems that he's singing like a canary.

He's very believable (lists his sources) easy to follow, extremely well researched, and this stuff is going to be very damning to the LDS church.

This podcast makes Joseph Smith, Emma, and all their inner circle come across as a dirty little sex-swinging club.

Glad he handed them a resignation letter and walked away.
