But if you *had* to do it, who would you pick. My point is that Mr. Uchtdorf is romantic for many followers. He is not from the same mold as the others. He also has that sort of debbinaire look.

This, I believe, is why people listen so intently to him.

Remember, you don't become an Apostle by going against grain. In the end, Dieter is just a polished version of Packer.

If I was forced to choose, I'd pick...Oaks. I don't like that dick's stance on the gays, and Packer is too easy a target. So I'd spend all of dinner peppering him with questions.

You could pepper him with kisses, too. Just a thought.

Shouldn't one pick the one who pays the check?

Ah, Hoops, remarkable insight; screw the 12, I'm taking the Presiding Bishop!

So was Uchdorf's talk new doctrine, or is it simply his opinions since it goes against established doctrine?

Of course it's official doctrine. It's officially published. But did he contradict any existing doctrine or the scriptures (such as 1 Cor 6:2)? Of course not. Read the context that the OP failed to quote:

"This topic of judging others could actually be taught in a two-word sermon. When it comes to hating, gossiping, ignoring, ridiculing, holding grudges, or wanting to cause harm, please apply the following:"
