I recall as a TBM reading D&C Section 113 and thinking how eerily awesome it was that God was answering frank questions just like any ol' friend would answer your questions.
True, God was talking in his crusty King James verbiage but it still hit me close to home. I envisioned Joseph and friends sitting in a room shooting off random questions about Isaiah and then hearing the Lord's Sean Connery voice as he replies:
1 Who is the Stem of Jesse spoken of in the 1st, 2d, 3d, 4th, and 5th verses of the 11th chapter of Isaiah?
2 Verily thus saith the Lord: It is Christ.
Did anyone else think this?
Oh for shame, how the mortals put the blame on us gods, for they say evils come from us, but it is they, rather, who by their own recklessness win sorrow beyond what is given... Zeus (1178 BC)
Well, they probably were using a form of divination. I would guess they were using the seer stone.
