I'm a fan of this Mormon

Read about this cool guy here:
Style Porn: Natural by Design

I'm not sure what his bishop thinks about the phrase "style porn" as a reference to his natural style. [shrug]

This guy must worship Athena. Look at how he thinks about textiles:
“...The adrenaline rush sharpens my senses and fires my creative juices, while the colors, textures, shapes, and patterns of the fabrics and finishes used in the collection often are influenced by the natural environment, indigenous species and native culture,” he says.

To be honest, I'm not a super fan of his work but I'm very happy to have found him on Mormon.org and I really enjoyed looking at his work and watching his Mormon ad.

Just another representative sampling of Mormonism.

I doubt he is TBM. Being a single dad, I'd bet he is less active if not inactive.

At least his long hair and stubble will keep him out of most callings.

I was told LDS showed this video on one of the major TV networks. After watching that video myself, I was drawn toward the ideas brought up. This guy seemed to be trying to reconnect to his two boys. He is using his activity in the church to do it, apparently. But, from what I can tell by reading between the lines is that he is actually trying to spend more quality time with them by playing ball and sharing in his art with them. Maybe, just maybe, he is also helping them with their homework, talking to them on the back porch, taking them to sports events, camping, etc.

It is possible that he is encouraging them to sit through 3 hours of church on Sunday and asking about their future mission/BYU plans. I would think the latter is not helping him connect with his boys like the other, practical things will.

I was in such a hurry that I couldn't get my thoughts down properly.

Here is what I would like to say about Mr. Comstock:

I interpreted the message in the video to be that his involvement in the church is what is helping him connect with his sons. It looks more like he is using non-religious means to connect with them. Now that I think about it, there is really nothing in the video demonstrating any connection between church involvement and building healthy relationships with family members at all.

I wonder what the intended message is as compared to the way Mr. Comstock truly feels about LDS and the role it plays in his life.

Hmmm. I think the church is doing a great job of marketing their brand. I feel great when I watch their videos but when asked to analyze the message, I can't really do it very well.
