Any president's wife whose first reaction to the idea was "And now he wants to be president!!" has my heart.

Before, but I don't have a problem with the "early birthday present" remark in the slightest. Watching Democrats eat their own for a few days was fun.

I'd say this of most presidential candidates in general, and often (but not always) their wives.

As I recall, beastie, you didn't mind the smell of entitlement when it was radiating from Kerry-Edwards in 2004.

You and me both.

It's amazing what one will overlook when the other option is Dubya.

President Barack Obama recently stated:

“First of all there is no tougher job than being a mom, I think this was an ill-advised statement by somebody on television. It's not something that I subscribe to, and moreover my general rule is you don't talk about the spouses of elected officials because they've got a really tough job. They're out there supporting their husband or wife who have chosen to serve in public eye."

"Sometimes that spouse isn't volunteering for that job, but they're doing the best they can supporting somebody they love and they care about. And I think they're off limits, so on both counts it was the wrong thing to say and I haven't met Ms. Romney but she seems like a wonderful woman and I know that she's devoted her life to her family.”

Seems like that a few of the Liberals here are Not giving heed to the advise of President Barack Obama.

The unfortunate thing about the recent Ann Romney flap is that CNN's Rosen was actually making a good point, which became obscured by the Outrage Generation Machine because of her poor choice of words.

Her comment was in response to Mitt's statement about going to his wife for advice regarding how American women feel about the economy and jobs. Given this fact, it was entirely appropriate to point out that his "women's issues advisor" has never had to go get a job so she could feed her children, and never had to make tough economic choices for her family.

She (a working mother herself) just should have done it better.

Very complimentary to all classes of people. If more women hear her, they are all going to vote for Romney because of her; all but the most crusty, hairy, and hoary of feminists.

Noticed that you haven't vomited this crap over in the thread on MAD about following the D&C in voting.
