Joseph Smith taught: “It is the first principle of the Gospel to know for a certainty the Character of God. … He was once a man like us; … God himself, the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ himself did” (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, sel. Joseph Fielding Smith [1976], 345–46).

Gee, thanks Tobin, whatever would I do without you.

Do you think the changes in the Sunday School manual will start to make there way into the Institute Manual?

You are under the impression that the Church doesn't change. Polygamy - gone, blacks banned from the priesthood - gone, women banned from the priesthood (except in the temple) - ok, not gone but will be gone, the same is true here. Slowly but surely the teaching that mere men will be (and can be God) will go away. God the Father was a Christ - not a mere man and that is what the correct teaching should have been all along.

I'm under the impression that the church doesn't change? What are you going to accuse me of next Tobin, having a temple reccomend?
