Really?
bcspace inadvertently brings up a good point. I purposely say "members in good standing" as opposed to "faithful members" because the latter is a very subjective standard. Certain LDS apologists will use that subjectivity as wiggle room to attack their ideological enemies. It does not matter to Ralph "The Weenie" Hancock that Joanna Brooks is an active member with her testimony on MST. He has decided that he is the arbiter of what constitues valid belief in Mormonism, so he, motivated by his voracious ego and misogyny, will attack Sister Brooks relentlessly.
If he does this through some foundation of tinfoil-hat-wearing konservative kooks, that is his right. What I would take exception to is that his attacks derive support, whether indirectly or directly, from the LDS Church, say, by publication in a journal housed on BYU campus, etc.

If people's bishops can't judge who is in good standing with God, what makes you think you can?
I believe Bcspace was referring to items not only like membership in the Church, but also the National Rifle Association, a Barry Goldwater campaign button, lawn signs for Proposition 8, brochures outlining how water fluoridation results in global communism, etc....

Don't distract bcspace right now. He's busy steadying the ark.
