I view it as a brilliant "member retention" move.

I found that the more I read on that board, the further I pulled away from the church. Perhaps if my access were limited I'd still be in.

My guess is two fold...

First, it's to prevent future DDoS attacks.

Second, it's to keep search engine bots from giving individual posts hot spots in search results.

True, but I think a good percentage of Internet users don't realize it so it will force them to leave or sign up. Also I've been browsing by clearing my cookies and it gets old real fast.

I agree with this new decision. Who would want to read more than ten posts? Besides, it cuts down on people actually knowing what they said and refuting their assertions over on this board. You can't comment on foolishness if you can't see it.
