You are not making sense. From a Jewish perspective, Christianity is not a legitimate successor to Judaism. From a Christian perspective, Joseph Smith was a false prophet of God, so it's not a legitimate successor to Christianity.

Yes, but from the Christian perspective Christianity is a legitimate successor to Judaism, and from the LDS perspective the Mormon Church is a legitimiate successor to Biblical Christianity. I completely understand why Biblical Christians think the LDS Church is not legitimate, but those Christians can't expect Latter-day Saints to stop asserting they are legitimate (stop asserting they are Christians any more than they can expect themselves to stop asserting that they are a legitimate successor to Judaism.
