Mormons and the hypocrisy of "Traditional Marriage"

Post by _Stormy Waters »

Mormons who are pushing for "traditional marriage" are hypocrites.

They defend the Joseph Smith when he took multiple wives, and they preach to others about the sanctity of "traditional marriage."
They defend the Prophet Joseph Smith when he married other man's wives, and they still preach to others about the sanctity of "traditional marriage."
They defend Joseph Smith when he promised women salvation if they married him, and they preach to others about the sanctity of "traditional marriage."
They defend Joseph Smith when he lied to his wife about his other marriages, and they dare preach to others about the sanctity of "traditional marriage."

Do you Mormons believe in "traditional marriage" or not? At least pick a damn side.

I think the Church should support ballot initiatives to codify wife beating, dowries, arranged marriages, and a wife having no legal rights independent of her husband.

These have all been traditional features of marriage, and the Church is in favor of traditional marriage.

Mormon theology states that the only valid marriage in the eyes of God is one that occurs within their silly temples.

All other marriages outside of the temple are meaningless in the watchful eye of the Mormon God.

Homosexual marriages included.

Why should they care then? A homosexual marriage is no different to them than a heterosexual marriage held outside of the Mormon temple.
