It is undisputed that Judas betrayed Jesus.

It IS disputed that Whitmer was apostate.

So, given Whitmer's powerful testimony of being given authority from God because Joseph Smith was a fallen prophet, how do you know that Joseph Smith did not apostatize from the true gospel?

Yes Bob, I know that Joseph Smith was not Jesus. I was just trying to make a point with Darth. Darth believes, as a holdover from some apostates of old, that Joseph was a fallen prophet. I think perhaps Judas thought that about Jesus for a while when he saw that Jesus did not overthrow the Roman rule. Anyhow, there is no proof that Joseph was a fallen prophet. There is only tabloid type statements from a dog who turned turned to his own vomit and others who follow in his footsteps. Whitmer was at least bright enough to resign before he was excommunicated along with several others who were known as "the disinters." However, he was apparently not bright enough to understand Jacob 2:30, and kept stating that the Book of Mormon condemned polygamy and that Joseph was wrong for instituting it! He was a typical anti who didn't know what he was talking about!
