Re: Not seeking Converts
walking around all day and knocking on doors is seen as a less productive way to find converts. Back in 06-07 A lot of area authorities started pushing for a greater emphasis on working with members and less actives to find investigators through them and strengthen their resolve and testimony/missionary spirit. While I highly doubt the missionaries were told to not look for converts it is very likely they are not "looking for converts" through door to door or random chance meetings. Instead their focus is to work with members and strengthen the ward through less actives and get referrals to teach through the members.

Hey thanks you guys. I had a lot of the same ideas. I was also thinking with all of the attention the church is going to get the church may be afraid that people outside the church will share unfavorable things to the missionaries and damage the faith of the missionaries. Hey madison54 what mission do you live in?

They were suppose to work with less active instead. Has anyone else heard of this and have any reasons why the church is doing this? I have my ideas but I would like to see your thoughts.
Hi Shixon,
I am no longer active but my teenaged son still has good friends who are. Several of his friends have been going out on splits with the missionaries assigned to our ward and they told my son that all they do is call on inactive members in the ward. So, maybe you are correct.
