Operating under a 7th century serf/slave religion, they have to be restrained from terrorizing their neighbors. Once they renounce that as part of their culture, they can come out to play with the good boys and girls.

Tell me this, is it the Israeli "occupation" that is causing them to implement the oppressive Sharia Law and persecute those of other religions? If the Palestinians were running your state, would you happily agree to the laws and requirements they would impose? Would you convert to Islam or die or pay the tax? Would you be happy with women, even of other religions, being forced to wear a burkah and not allowed to drive or receive a higher education? These are the things you support when you side with the Palestinians.

On a recent trip to Israel the only Palestinian enclave we visited was Bethlehem so it is difficult to know whether or not Romney's remarks regarding Palestinians were accurate. He was, of course, trying to drum up cash from wealthy Jewish contributors so his remarks should be understood in that context. I did, however, spend two days in Jordan and the comparisons with Israel were stark. Israel definitely gives the impression of a growing, cohesive society with unified goals and purpose. Crossing into Jordan these impressions are notably absent. Very friendly people but little obvious sense of national purpose or direction...(just getting the litter clean-up franchise could make someone wealthy) loads of men sitting around smoking and drinking coffee while any manual work in the 100 degree heat appeared to be done only by women. The only obvious unifying element was the picture of the smiling king plastered everywhere. Apart from its modern main highways, Jordan gave the impression of a time-locked country as opposed to Israel's thriving optimism for improvement now and in the future.
