Nightlion, the Talpiot Tomb is definitely not a hoax. It was first unearthed in the 70's and I remember watching Joan Bakewell on the BBC doing a report on it and highlighting the collection of names and questioning whether it was the tomb of Jesus. All then went quiet until Simcha Jacobivici, James Cameron and James Tabor amongst others brought it to light again.
The names by themselves are common names true enough, but the cluster of names together in one tomb is quite remarkable in my opinion. There have been various statistical analyses of the name clusters with varying results.
James Tabor's website is a good place to start if you are interested.

Tabor also deals with the James son of Joseph, brother of Jesus ossuary in his blog, and Oded Golan has recently been cleared of forgery.
Also of interest is the Tomb investigated close to the 'Jesus' Tomb. One of the ossuaries seemed to have a picture of what might be an amphora/whale, with the name of Jonah inserted into what appears to be a stick man. http://jamestabor.com/2012/04/19/inscri ... ays-yonah/
This is significant because it adds weight to the theory that the adjacent tomb is the tomb of the Jesus family. (see article to see why)

Yeshua. Written as Jesus. Pronounced as Geeses...
All "J" in biblical names should be written and pronounced as "Y". As the appropriate hebrew letter is yod - not jod.
Probably not, ludwigm.
I have, for many years, found it amusing that most very religious English speakers don't know that Yashua's name was not Jesus. Not even close. In fact, no one's name was Jesus. If you could walk down a street in Nazareth 2,000 years ago and yelled out "Jesus" no one would have turned around.
There are a lot of men of Hispanic decent who have the name Jesus (pronounce Hesus), but those are all incorrect as well.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

I think Jesus would have realized that it was him that was being called upon. Being a prophet and all.....just sayin.

Maybe, but if he wasn't on that street no one else would have known what you were hollering about.
If you had walked up to Yashua and said "Jesus" he might have said: "Hey, you talkin' to me? Let me heal that speech impediment."

Or simply he might have ignored it...

[Note from Brian LePort: I received an email from Craig A. Evans saying that the Harvard Theological Review (HTR) has decided against publishing Karen King's paper on the Gospel of Jesus' Wife. He wrote, "After the analyses of Francis Watson, Mark Goodacre, Gesine Robinson, and others, I think forgery is virtually a certainty." I responded asking if it is becoming a consensus that it is a "modern" forgery and the below post (which he said I could share) is his response. Also, I should add that he did not provide his source, so I've sent him a follow-up email asking where he heard the news regarding HTR's decision. Update: The source appears to be an email from Gesine Robinson whose source is Helmut Koester. ]

Here's an article from
http://www.gospels.net/gjw/GJW(Bernhard_9-24-2012).pdf
I don't think this is sown up one way or the other as yet. The general consensus among some scholars seems to be that it has been taken from the Gospel of Thomas, but there are voices arguing that it would be impossible to forge on that basis.
This will be like the James Ossuary. It will go on forever.
Will be interesting to see how it develops.
