Not only Quentin, but now Neil Anderson has chimed in:

There has always been a few who want to discredit the church and destroy faith. Today they use the internet. Some of the information about the church, no matter how convincing, is just not true.

Jeeze, and now Walter Gonzalez is also berating webpages.

MormonThink has really got these old farts pissed off. I wonder how many of them had to change their conference talks around at the last minute because of Twede.

It's the same old song and dance they've done for years.

And for me, I will continue to send Mormons to FAIR and FARMS/NWI because it will reaffirm to them that there are issues. Those sites will plant doubts, doubts will lead to more research and then they'll end up on sites like mine - or Twedes'.

Today surrounded by so much information we might think that navigating millions of webpages will give us all that we need to know. We can find good and bad information on the web. But information alone is not enough. God has given us another source for greater knowledge even knowledge sent from heaven. Our heavenly father can give us such knowledge when we navigate the celestial web in our hearts and minds.

I kind of chuckled when he said 'celestial web.'

A now a word of caution. Access to this celestial web can be marred by iniquity and forgetting the lord.

Incidentally, getting access to the Celestial web will probably cost more than a standard ISP and there isn't a clear way reproduce search results yet. Also, the connection is extremely temperamental.

Also when troubleshooting the connection problems you are left to your own devices to figure out what is wrong with it. Invariably if the connection is not working there is someway to blame yourself for it.

Fortunately it is not necessary to fast, pray, and repent to use Google.

It is important to recall that Cook is the fellow who made his money by privatizing well-functioning public healthcare in California with a deeply negative impact on the quality and increase in prices.

I spent some time documenting this at the time he was called, but I was called on the carpet by some people for doing so.

Kish,

Do you yet have that documentation, your work product? I would find that information very useful.

Even worse is when Apostle Dallin Oaks tries to validate that the document didn't really alter the Church's foundational claims by saying that the 'salamander' mentioned in Hofmann's document could be interpreted as a 'mythical being thought to be able to live in fire' (even though Hofmann said he substituted the word salamander for toad from another early church document which clearly shows that the context of salamander was a small lizard and not some off-the-wall 'mythical being' obscure definition of the word salamander). Amazing that an apostle would bend over backwards to try to justify a document to prevent it from harming people's testimonies - and then to find out that the document he was making excuses for was a complete forgery!

Apostle Dalin Oaks gave a talk responding to the incident called Recent Events Involving Church History and Forged Documents.

No kidding. I'm not all that impressed by Andersen either. I don't like Bednar, but not because I think he is a light weight (it's because all of his talks leave me feeling cold and empty . . . not even guilty or angry, just cold and empty).
