Jason you fool. You promised yourself not to get drawn into mind polluting threads on MDB. You are not doing well in that buddy boy. If you do not cease and desist no biking for you for the next week! Indoor or outdoors. Now get the out of here. You have a Church meeting to head out to you pious self righteous pompous NOM. Say ten Hail Brigham's on your way to your meeting. And remind that liberal SP tonight that he is headed for hell as one of the tares if he does not kiss some conservative's ring by tomorrow and repent.

You rock.

I wholeheartedly agree!

If you had a deep understanding of the gospel, you would be talking much more about helping the poor and visiting the sick.

Not much time for that around here, as I'm usually too busy trying to educate people in this forum who's minds and hearts and been polluted and distorted by leftist ideology on how to avoid making the poor far worse off than before their liberal "compassion" was applied, and how to avoid wrecking any chance for the poor to truly rise and improve their condition through the leftist destruction of the economy, the public education system, and the values, attitudes, and behaviors that tend toward economic success and overall success and happiness in life.

You would be more vocally concerned about people being lonely, in pain, or hungry and thirsty.

And what makes you think I'm not, oh pious one?
You would be talking about understanding and tolernance...

Of what? In what sense?

and would show intellectual humility instead of ideological obsessiveness.

This is just your own ideological obsessiveness (and self-righteous pseudo-moral leftist breast beating) in play.

You might use words like "help me understand your point of view".

More like "There, but for the grace of God, go I..."

Indeed, you would be doing a lot less "studying and reflecting" and a lot more digging, building, healing and feeding.

Just like you do, every day, eh Tarski? How many "shovel ready" jobs have you funded, Tarski? I actually give money to homeless people on the street, Tarski, as opposed to supporting policies that wreck the economy and make it ever more unlikely that the poor will ever be able to support themselves and achieve economic independence and self-sufficiency. I've paid a great deal of tithing to that purpose as well, as well as fast offerings (and they weren't confiscated from me by force).

Go spew this pious drivel to someone you can fool with it. Your sanctimonious socialist bleating and smug, wailing cries of moral indignation at those who actually see the poor as individual human beings and not as abstract moral mascots to be used in a cosmic drama of moral one-upmanship with those holding different political perspectives do not impress either the intelligent nor the truly moral.

It seems rather obvious that any God worthy of being God would be more interested in us being compassionate and empathetic rather than in our being doctrinally "correct".

How irrelevant...to anything.

He might also grow tired of ornate ranting--especially while there is suffering out there.

Yes, so long as the Left exists, and so long as it continues to dominate the major institutions of human society, here and around the world, there will, indeed, be suffering.

And lots of it. The 20th century was just warming-up.
