I would expect that if you get a good tophat, a seer stone of some type and sit with your head in your hat keeping all light out that you just might get a real Joseph Smith experience in about a year or until they carriied you away in a straight jacket because you were mumbling "its true, its true, its true"
so much for copycating joseph smith and seeking all those marvelous experiences.
well go get a hat and stone and prove me wrong.

Yes this is the key ... a lonely and hard place to be. When one is filled with the joy of the revealed gospel the normal tendancy is to what to share it.
I saw this take the wind out of the sails of a great man who went silent, as well as known several that decided to share. These are ones in hundreds of thousands, a tiny handful of the 14million members.
