Who gets to decide if her way is better?

Exactly.

And also, I have no "my way." I'm just sick of the whole issue of images themselves being something which is dealt with in bone-headed ways over and over. This is something I have no intention of dealing with directly with Shades---my remarks were made to Chap, you'll notice---because I have given up trying to communicate in that fashion. I tried for a long time to explain things to him and all I got was anger and offensive remarks about me and friends of mine.

I would think that LDST's thread "Does God Inspire Art," would have proved one point: the genitalia double standard. Boobies, girl bits, fine. Phallus: OMG!!! DELETE QUICK!!!! ALERT!! DANGER!!!! DON'T EVEN CLICK ON THIS NSFW LINK!!! OMG!!!! Also the corollary: PHOTOGRAPHS are WORSE than paintings, sculpture, etc. But, I doubt that this point has sunk in at all.

I honestly don't care anymore. I have so much more on my plate than this: the aftereffect of the hurricane continues to part of my daily life and the lives of my students. Getting through this semester alive and financially, emotionally and psychologically intact are the only things I need worry about at the moment. I'm only on MDB for occasional distraction amid problems whose end I can not yet see...

So you're willing to moan and complain, but unwilling to give suggestions for improvement. Got it.

I'm just sick of the whole issue of images themselves being something which is dealt with in bone-headed ways over and over.

But you're unwilling to say why they're bone-headed.

This is something I have no intention of dealing with directly with Shades---my remarks were made to Chap, you'll notice---because I have given up trying to communicate in that fashion. I tried for a long time to explain things to him and all I got was anger and offensive remarks about me and friends of mine.

Never once have I responded to you in anger, nor have I directed an offensive remark your way (at least, not advertently). The only complaint you could mount about a comment directed toward a friend of yours was when I made the accurate observation of how Ardis Parshall presented herself.

OMG!!!!

And your explanation of why the Greek homosexual orgy is still there is . . . what, exactly?

Also the corollary: PHOTOGRAPHS are WORSE than paintings, sculpture, etc. But, I doubt that this point has sunk in at all.

Photographs are worse, because there are so many more of those around than classical paintings that employers are less apt to recognize them as art than pornography. Besides, once we open the door to photographs, then people will start posting pictures from Playboy, Playgirl, Penthouse, and Hustler. In short, administrators of sites such as this have to look at the big picture (no pun intended).

I honestly don't care anymore.

Judging from your occasional snipes, I doubt that.
