Your descriptor of DCP as a LDS leader is probably the most problematic phrase in that sentence. If he was a GA, you'd have a complaint. As of last conference, he wasn't. Thus... he's not a LDS leader. LDS member, yes.
Come on harmony, he founded FARMS, is a highly respected professor and author in LDS circles, money raiser for the church, travels the world as a "ambassador" to raise monies for the church (NMI) and was a Bishop...that is a leader, and he is a keynote speaker at many a event...You are correct that he is not a GA, but I can lay out simply and clearly more LDS doctrinal thought has been defined and taught by him, more so than any GA that I can think of since BRM, and that is why he was let go, at least it is my opinion why. And you can not deny he was the most looked up poster at MADB when it was free from restrictions.
