The bad taste this leaves behind is that for 100 years or more God let this discrimination go unchanged within his Church even though He had direct access to a Prophet who could change it. God, through His Prophets and His Church did not lead the way on how humanity with differing skin colours should be treated. He allowed society to do that and then societal pressures forced the church to change. Not great for the one true Church.
The other angst that now comes into play is, what if that is exactly the same situation with discriminating within the Church based on sexuality? If the Priesthood ban was not revelation and had no Godly basis for it, doesn't that equally apply to the same sex attraction discussion?

Continuing revelation isn't for nothing. I imagine there are a number of ways that the LDS Church may improve in the future and come to look at its old views as mistaken. I understand why people get upset about those old views, but I think it is possible to have a positive outlook on the possibility of change brought about by further revelation.

The thing that may not be so healthy is dwelling on the past for negative purposes.

Hi Kish,

What is ironic is the very church that was lost and broken, that the LDS church is to have restored, is the church they are now drawing closer too in kind.
