What matters the destruction of a few railway cars? You will hear of magnificent cities, now idolized by the people, sinking in the earth, entombing the inhabitants. The sea will heave itself beyond its bounds, engulfing mighty cities. Famine will spread over the nations, and nation will rise up against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and states against states, in our own country and in foreign lands. This is somewhat problematic as a PR move, isn't it? If this concept were to be proffered by the LDS church to explain falling missionary numbers then they would have effectively started their own doomsday clock.
I'm sure that the PR follow up would be that the Mormon god doesn't follow the timelines of man, and
by golly, when he's good and ready you'll notice the famines and the ocean upheavings and the railway car destructions!Notwithstanding the enrtertainment value of JLH
-Saturday's Warrior-PROF's offerings, it would be interesting to discuss this issue realistically.
