Bedbug did not even address the problem of the day - that is the real problem here. He could not change his prepared rant to address the reality on a campus that is known for denying it. He is way out of touch with what is needed, selfish in his own little world where he expects worship and instant obedience. He is not there to help.
You're right. You'd think that at any other NORMAL university a whole different kind of speech would have been offered to reflect the pressing need of the day. But Mormon leaders don't care about the needs of the people. They only care about the needs of the church institution and how it looks. They are so caught up with letter of the law and total obedience that they are far removed from reality and are out touch with society as a whole.
