All I know is that I often saw Sen. Reid at church on Sundays. It always amazes me that these scandals are always mentioned on these chatrooms, when any reporter who wanted a big story would do anything to break it. My Mormon friends also told me many stories about the private life of Sec. Hilary Clinton when she was the First Lady, it is all quite pathetic.
The best rumor I ever heard while I was a member of the church was that John Denver is/was still alive in the year 2000, he supposedly faked his death to get out of the spotlight and live the life he would sing about, on an old country road. The quick version is that an (church) investigator in Russia was trying to impress a missionary she had a crush on. Her friend had met an American, married him and moved to Colorado. This friend in America was at a party, and a Dr. that was there had a few too many drinks and shared a story about getting a cal from one of John Denver's kids, so he drove to the middle of nowhere, pulled up to a hidden mansion, and out walks John Denver! This was amazing to the missionaries because "how would a Russian know who John Denver was?"
