I join my voice with that of John Taylor and millions of others; I’m not backing away from Joseph Smith, the Prophet who opened this last dispensation. Not even close.

Joseph Smith is nowhere to be found on the main page. Joseph Smith is nowhere to be found on the “our beliefs page.” None of the 6 “core beliefs” ever mention Joseph Smith. The page for the Book of Mormon overview does not mention Joseph Smith.
Joseph Smith is finally mentioned at the bottom of the “Beliefs” sub-menu, at the bottom of that page.
I think it’s pretty likely that within the next decade or two, Mormons will stop singing “Praise to the man” in sacrament meeting, and BYU will be renamed. There’s just no way that Mormons can crawl over, under, or around the awful legacy of these men.
I sincerely pray that DCP lives long enough to see it.

Just from the Bible and any traditional Christianity, you are never going to get to 15 old guys in Salt Lake City, Utah, being the official spokespeople of God.

Yep!
The front page of LDS.org is carefully designed for a specific purpose. What they choose to include is just as important (to us analyzing them) as what they choose NOT to include.
Mentions of Jesus and Christ and pictures of happy families bring in more bodies. Only after they've been hooked do they start trickling in the truth.
Many Mormons are never told about wearing special underwear until the days before their endowment. That is the length the church goes to to hide unpalatable aspects of its religion from prospective victims I mean members.
I think it's clear the church considers Joseph and Brigham liabilities, not assets.
