Eternal marriage
When one begins to read and study the Bible, you can clearly see how many doctrinal conflicts there are with what Smith contrived and what is actually taught in the Bible. One of those things is eternal marriage. In the book of Matthew, Christ clearly teaches that not only is there no such thing as eternal marriage, but there isn't even any marriage at all in heaven after we die, we are all going to be free to be with whoever we want to be with since we will all be 'as the angels in heaven'. Given Christ taught that there is not even any marriage in heaven, how in the world can the LDS 'church' teach, practice and condone eternal marriage when it is in direct conflict with what Christ himself taught and how is there no questioning of this by 'church' members who know and study the Bible???

Re: Eternal marriage
In my experience most young LDS have studied enough of the Bible to be aware of problems like this. They may not have the in depth understanding of some Bible students but they have some and perhaps more than some other folks.BeNotDeceived wrote: ↑Tue Nov 01, 2022 8:01 pmWhen one begins to read and study the Bible, you can clearly see how many doctrinal conflicts there are with what Smith contrived and what is actually taught in the Bible. The LDS answer to your puzzle , as I remember it , is that Jesus was referring to the people in the puzzle presented to him by the Sadducees. They were not married. He then refocused the query saying God is the Lord of the living.

All Bible believers believe something contradicted by the Bible.
