A nonLDS Egyptologist Review of Mekis book

Tamas Mekis is an Independent Egyptologist who has written a major book on the Hypocephalus. (like facsimile3). It is based on his PHd from Budapest. While Gee has done a review this is a review by a nonLds Egyptologist, Luca Miatello. Luca Miatello praises parts and has some criticisms of his work. Mekis wrote "This week I had occasion to travel to Vienna to use the rich Egyptological library there. I managed to scan the review of Luca Miatello on my book. We have different opinions on several questions, he declares the rightness of his readings and states that my ones are faulty. This is science...

If you do a google scholar search on his name (Mekis) he has been widely published in academic journals. A lot of Gee's entries are in LDS/BYU publications. Phil has just received his copy of the book so we will hope he shares his thoughts on his The Backyard Professor's youtube channel.The book is quite expensive (almost 100 dollars) Fortunenaly Tamas sent me a copy for free. Gee's review has already been responded to here. So in the interest of balance it was appropriate to see what a nonlds scholar thought of the book.I heard from a Facebook friend that Kerry Muhlestein (BYU Egyptologist) had purchased a copy of the book at the publishers book stand at a Egyptology conference recently.
Perhaps the Backyard Professor after he gets over his initial excitement will provide as he usually does a more expansive comment.

I have it on impeccable authority that this Backyard Professor character is most certainly going to expound on Mekis's book along with lots of other comparative information from LDS scholarship on said subject.

Mekis's book is, without doubt, THE book John Gee salivates wishing he had done the work and gets the credit, but he has farted his career away whilst other march firmly onto well deserved Egyptological glory.
