I think of Joseph Smith as a promiscuous man who believed to have the right to have sexual relations with any woman or girl of his choosing. He used his religious calling as a prophet as a kind of spiritual authorization to do whatever he wanted. In less flattering terms, Smith was a kind of pious male slut.
